Charity Emmaus Sheffield will re-open its popular second hand superstore on Monday, April 12.
Emmaus Sheffield is the drug and alcohol free project that provides a home, support and work for formerly homeless people in the city.
Through its Social Enterprise programme it aims to provide meaningful work and enable the people it supports – known as companions - to eventually become self-supporting once more.
One of the charity’s main fundraising schemes is its second hand store at the organisation’s headquarters in the historic Sipelia Works, close to the city’s Canal Basin.
And after staying closed throughout the most recent lockdown, the shop will welcome bargain hunters back on Monday, April 12.
“We now have a counter area with perspex screen which has been designed with the safety of both the Emmaus team and our customers in mind,” said the charity’s Deputy Manager Charley Fedorenko.
“We are fortunate that the superstore is also big enough for us to introduce a one way system, which is clearly signposted throughout with arrows on the floor.
“Customers can also be assured that there will be plenty of hand sanitiser for them to use as they look around.
“And we will still be limiting the number of customers we can have in the shop at any one time so will be asking people to be patient.”
