Sheffield, London and Lithuania-based language services company Guildhawk is set to bring the region’s digital community together at a specialist technology and coding event in Sheffield next week.

Led by Guildhawk’s CEO and founder Jurga Zilinskiene, attendees will get the chance to learn about the company’s innovative new technology project and vision for the future, and to discuss opportunities for people to join the Sheffield design and development team.

Digital specialists from Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield Digital will also share their expertise, knowledge and experience around coding, industry trends and technology partnerships.

Boasting a strong portfolio of global clients including L’Oréal, Sony, CNN and Hugo Boss, Guildhawk is an award-winning language services company originally established in London in 2001 by founder Jurga Zilinskiene.

Recognising Sheffield as a city at the forefront of business and the perfect place for the company’s expansion, Guildhawk opened their Yorkshire office in 2017.

Strengthening the company’s digital output, Guildhawk are working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University to recruit two graduates with a degree in Interaction Design, Computer Science or Software Engineering to join their team.

Jurga said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting our first digital event in Sheffield and to welcoming like-minded people to learn about the exciting developments and technology projects at Guildhawk.”

Demonstrating her passion for all aspects of the digital industry, Jurga is a coder and programmer herself and actually built the company’s proprietary content management system.

She added: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to profile our projects and hear about the latest research and industry trends from Sheffield Digital and the University.”

“Working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University is a natural fit for us, and we’re confident that our employment partnership will provide two graduates with cutting-edge industry experience.”

On choosing Sheffield for the company’s expansion, Jurga added: “I have a personal connection with South Yorkshire as my husband is from Doncaster, and my daughter has lived in Sheffield ever since she moved here to attend University.

“I’ve visited the area many times and it was easy to see that the region has a thriving business environment.

“Sheffield also gave us the opportunity to expand outside of London and move up to the ‘booming’ North.

“I am looking forward to the next chapter in the story of our ever-growing company, as we move further into the technology market and strengthen our coding and design teams here in Sheffield.
