Young people interested in developing the technical skills that employers need are invited to find out more at a series of UTC Sheffield showcase events this term.
UTC Sheffield has two technical schools that together offer five specialisms in high growth industries, as well as GCSEs and A Levels, and are backed by 70 employers.
Students aged 13 to 19 learn in the latest high tech facilities. The high quality curriculum and buildings have been designed with employers who also provide industry projects, work experience and work placements. Both UTC campuses are part of Sheffield UTC Academy Trust.

The latest statistics show that 100% of UTC Sheffield students progress to a positive destination after completing their studies including going onto university and those in the Russell Group; 40% go onto a high quality apprenticeships with employers, for example, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Boeing, compared to 11% at traditional schools.
Places are filling fast for a series of showcase events in creative and digital media, engineering and advanced manufacturing, computing, healthcare sciences and sport science. They are taking place as follows:
- Computing showcase – Tuesday, November 20th from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park on Old Hall Road.
- Engineering launchpad showcase – Thursday, November 29th from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at MindSphere, Diamond Building at the University of Sheffield on Leaveygreave Road.
- Sport science showcase – Tuesday, December 4th from 5.30pm to 7.15pm at UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park on Old Hall Road.
- Rail sector joint event: post 16 opportunities – Wednesday, December 12th, from 5.00pm to 7.00pm at the National College for High Speed Rail Doncaster Campus, Carolina Way, Doncaster.
