A beach, face painting and fairground stalls – B. Braun Medical Ltd has celebrated 20 years at its Sheffield headquarters with a ‘B. Braun by the seaside’ employee and family fun day.
The leading healthcare company hosted the event at its Thorncliffe Park HQ, with 550 in attendance to enjoy activities including an inflatable helter-skelter, a surfboard simulator, a penalty shoot-out, fairground stalls and face painting.
Live music from the Acoustic Angels accompanied the event and employees also enjoyed a BBQ and bar during the day, as well as B. Braun’s main charity partner the Yorkshire Air Ambulance having an information stand at the event.
The event came the day after a ribbon-cutting for B. Braun’s newly expanded, state of the art medical and pharmaceutical facility which was opened by Global CEO, Anna Maria Braun.
Chairman and Group Chief Executive at B. Braun Medical Ltd, Hans Hux, said: “20 years is a fantastic milestone, and in that time, we’ve seen great changes within the business.
“Between 1980 and 1998, our two core brands, B. Braun and Aesculap, were distributed by separate companies in the UK: B. Braun Medical Ltd, based in Aylesbury and Aesculap, based in Sheffield. As the two businesses grew, they were amalgamated and took residence at what was then our new, purpose-built headquarters at Thorncliffe Park on the north side of Sheffield.
“Growth has continued at Thorncliffe Park over the last two decades, and the site now boasts increased warehouse space, a 21st century business centre and auditorium, a recently expanded Compounding Aseptic Production Service, as well as ultra-modern office and catering facilities for our employees and visitors to enjoy.
“To mark 20 years, we wanted to do something really special with all of our staff and their families and we thought what lovelier than a day at the seaside!
“The day was a great success and a very memorable celebration, and we look forward to another 20 years in our Sheffield headquarters!”
