Leading web design agency Delicious Media is helping start-up businesses in Sheffield by running a free workshop in conjunction with Business Sheffield.

The Kelham Island based company has created the free workshop, which takes place on 22 October 2018, to give Sheffield business start-ups a better understanding of website design.

Dave Pullig is a founder of Delicious Media and said: “We come across a lot of start-ups who have either had bad advice or made mistakes early on. This is completely understandable when it is not their area of expertise and they get bamboozled with website terminology.

Not having a basic understanding of what a website should do and how it should perform leads to problems with their website, from hacking, to poor design or difficulty in adding content. We think that a little advice can help change this, giving businesses the upper hand when it comes to getting their website up and running.”

The workshop will teach business start-ups how to set up a website independently or to get a better understanding of their current website. Delicious Media will explain all the technical terms a business needs to know, cover the basics of domains and hosting, and the legal obligations that all businesses must follow.

Delicious Media will also walk attendees through a simple business website set up using WordPress.

Business Growth Manager, Yvonne Asquith from Business Sheffield said “This workshop will teach new business owners how to get a website up and running and we look forward to seeing a variety of businesses at the event.”

The workshop will take place on Monday 22 October 2018 at 11 Broad Street West, Sheffield, S1 2BQ.
