The Doncaster Business Awards 2018 will be sponsored by Doncaster College & University Centre, a provider of further and higher education and skills that works closely with Doncaster Chamber’s Skills Academy and many employers to bridge the gap between business and education.

The annual awards, organised by Doncaster Chamber, is an opportunity for local businesses to be recognised for their ‘gold standard’ work. There are 12 categories to enter including, ‘SME of the Year,’  ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ and ‘Success through Marketing.’

The College will also sponsor the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ award category which recognises a business’s employee who has a bright future and has already shown an outstanding performance in the past year within the workplace. The Award is open to entrants up to 24-years old, either in a part-time, full time or an apprenticeship role.

“We are delighted to be announced as Doncaster Chamber’s headline sponsor for the prestigious annual Doncaster Business Awards 2018 and the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ award category,” says Anne Tyrrell, Chief Executive, Doncaster College & North Lindsey College.

“Doncaster College and the DN Colleges Group is committed to working in partnership with the business community to ensure we deliver the skills needed for Doncaster and the wider region to be successful.  We recognise the vital role we play in positively transforming our communities and are proud to sponsor an event which recognises our outstanding local businesses and the teams and individuals who make such a positive difference.”

Says Dan Fell, CEO, Doncaster Chamber: “It’s fitting that one of the Chamber’s key Team Doncaster partners will headline the Doncaster Business Awards in 2018.  The Chamber and Doncaster College & University Centre share core values and already work collaboratively in a number of ways.  Both organisations are absolutely committed to the betterment of our borough and improving the prospects of Doncaster businesses and learners alike.”

“There are lots of great businesses – of all sectors and sizes – working across Doncaster that are deserving of recognition.  I would strongly encourage them all to enter the Awards this year to shout more loudly about their success stories and show how good it is to do business in Doncaster.”

The Awards are open to entries from all Doncaster Chamber members and businesses with a DN postcode until Monday 10 September 2018.  The entry process is quick and easy by completing six core questions online. To assist applicants with their winning entries, the Chamber is running a workshop to share hints and tips on ‘How to Write a Winning Award’ on Thursday 30 August.

Among other sponsors joining Doncaster College & University Centre to support the Business Awards this year are Hilton Garden Inn, Business Doncaster, and King Asia Foods. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. The Black Tie Awards evening will be held on Thursday 13 December, at Doncaster Racecourse.
