In the North East Yorkshire and Humber region 2020 MAKE UK Manufacturing Awards, Gripple won an award in each of the three categories entered. The company now goes forward to the national finals against other regional winners.

June Smith, region director for Make UK in the North of England, said: “These awards are a testament to the dynamic companies and individuals working within engineering and manufacturing in Sheffield. The sector has been at the heart of delivering during the crisis and as we re-build our economy there will be a bright future for companies and individuals who make the most of their talent.”

The first award won by Gripple was Business Growth and Strategy.

Secondly, Gripple won in the Developing Future Talent category, which recognises those companies who have had done the most to build skills, develop talent and promote diversity amongst their employees.

Completing the trio was the Business Apprentice of the Year: Final Year winner, 21-year-old Estelle Smith lifting the regional award for making a significant contribution to support the company’s business activities and on track for a successful career.
