A team of leading HR and employment law specialists is set to launch a new training programme to help with the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace.
Bhayani Law, based in Sheffield, will host Hospitality Hub, a new training and networking programme designed for those working in the hospitality sector.
The first workshop, titled ‘Sexual harassment – is the workplace full of Harvey Weinsteins?’, will provide business leaders working in hotels, restaurants, and bars with the tools they need for prevention of harassment and how best to deal with employee complaints.
The programme will also cover key topics such as managing staff performance, licencing issues, and workforce planning. Each course will provide comprehensive support and advice on how to deal with difficult situations to ensure the best outcome for business managers and staff.
Kathryn Mosley, HR Advisor at Bhayani Law, said: “We’re really excited to bring these workshops to Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
“Hospitality is such a valuable sector in the region but, as employment law specialists, we see the problems that crop up because of poor staff management. We noticed a clear gap in the market and decided to take action by offering a space for people in the sector to learn key skills and network with others in the industry.
“Our first event will cover sexual harassment in the workplace, a hot topic at the moment following the Harvey Weinstein scandal. We know this can be a tricky subject to address, so we want to provide people with the tools they need to prevent harassment and discrimination across the business.
“At Bhayani Law, we’ve been offering expert advice to clients in hotels, restaurants and bars across the UK for a number of years. Our staff have more than 25 years’ experience in managing people in the sector and we can offer sector specific advice for employment law issues.”
Guest speakers will include Justin Rowntree from In the Sweet Spot, who will provide expert advice in dealing with forward planning, as well as representatives from Best Bar None amongst others.
The first event will take place on Thursday 22 February, 3-5pm, at The Workstation. To book a free spot on one of the workshops, for up to two people per business, email kathryn@bhayanilaw.co.uk or call 0114 303 2300.
