Neapolitan Pizza & Street food restaurant and bar Proove has now opened its third restaurant (and second in Sheffield), becoming the first independent restaurant at Centertainment leisure park.

Proove have redeveloped the site formally occupied by Prezzo, which closed in April 2018.

There has been a £150K investment in the 3,702 sq.ft site, the transformation of which reveals a stunning 170 seater restaurant complete with two handcrafted, bespoke pizza ovens made in Italy by Stefano Ferrara and shipped from Naples.

Proove is devoted to creating a completely authentic, Neapolitan eating and drinking experience. The team are passionate about sourcing the finest ingredients, wines and products direct from Naples and the surrounding Campania region – the pizza capital of the world. This attention to detail and authenticity is brought together with their own individually designed, contemporary styling to create a beautiful, laid back restaurant and bar.

As in Naples, it’s all about the very best food and drink, enjoyed fuss free, in a relaxed setting and at accessible price points. The Proove team believe that even the very best pizza should be affordable – that it is food designed to be enjoyed by everyone. Proove ensures it stays that way with high value pricing across their entire hand-crafted pizza range.

Proove pizzas are hand-made using Italian Caputo flour, slow proved for a minimum of 20 hours, hand stretched and cooked the Neapolitan way (fast!) in their specially made Italian ovens.

Proove pizzas are also topped with the finest, authentic Italian ingredients including San Marzano D.O.P. tomatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella. Where ingredients aren’t imported, they’re sourced from the best local suppliers.

There is also a collection of street food and Italian small plates and starters like Crocchè, a Sicilian dish of mashed potato and egg covered in bread crumbs, fried and infused with delicacies like fennel and smoked salami or truffled Portabello mushroom.

Tronchetto is Proove’s own handmade dough, topped, rolled and baked in the pizza oven then cut into tasty little parcels filled with your choice of meats and cheeses.

Designed by Sally Flude, the Centertainment restaurant and bar continues Proove’s polished, high specification, contemporary interior style, with some fresh new elements as part of this latest bespoke design.

The overall look and feel of the restaurant is light, spacious and beautiful like all Proove’s restaurants, with a slightly more industrial feel via the use of some edgier materials. Blue and smoky green colour accents are complemented by colourful lighting, and bespoke artwork by local artist Steve Millington.

Proove at Centertainment has its own stand-alone bar area seating 30 people at the entrance to the site where guests can enjoy the cracking drinks menu and delicious street food treats before dining, or just pop in for a drink before their next Centertainment stop. An al fresco dining area at the front of the restaurant seats a further 16.

The centrepiece of the restaurant is the huge ‘pizza bar’. The heart and soul of the kitchen are the pizza ovens and these will take centre stage in the open kitchen where the Pizzaiolo (pizza chefs – who are trained in the traditional Neapolitan style) prepare pizza in front of guests.

There’s plenty of booth seating in the large, bright and open restaurant space, and other interesting features such as a wine storage wall which will display a selection of fine Italian wines.

Deepak Jaiswal, Director at Proove Ltd, said: “Being able to open the first independent site in Centertainment is an honour for us and testament to the quality of the food and drink we serve here at Proove.

"We believe great quality food is for everyone and we’re excited to bring that approach to Centertainment.”
