Reach for the skies and support South Yorkshire youth homeless charity Roundabout’s Easter virtual balloon race this weekend!
Roundabout’s regular fundraising and events programme has been affected by Coronavirus so the charity is encouraging supporters to join a special Easter holiday family fun event – without having to leave the safety of their own homes.
It costs just £3 to purchase a virtual balloon which will then fly around the world and can be tracked on a real time global map when the race launches on Easter Sunday.
There is no impact on the environment as all balloons are virtual – and everybody who buys a balloon in the race is in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes, including £500 cash, an Apple iPad and ten £10 Book Tokens.
And with a few days left to go the organisers are looking for a soaraway success that will see balloon purchases fly way past the 500 mark.
All the proceeds raised will go to the charity that aims to support and empower young South Yorkshire people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to learn the necessary skills they need to become independent.
Balloons are available to purchase online now at roundabouthomeless.org/event/virtual-balloon-race/ and until Saturday April 11, with the virtual launch from Jerusalem on Easter Sunday, April 12.
Balloons will be trackable for seven days using Google Maps, with each balloon subject to a simulated flight pattern based on actual weather conditions such as wind speed and temperature.
Anybody who would like to donate to support Roundabout’s work at this difficult time and ensure the charity can still be there for young people at risk of homelessness, can make a donation by visiting roundabouthomeless.org/donate
