AI and Creativity: Why Do We Still Exist?
Kenwood Hall, Kenwood Rd, Nether Edge, Sheffield, S7 1NQ
Thursday9 July
11:30am - 2:00pm
AI can now write, design, edit and generate content in seconds – raising difficult questions for the creative industries.
If technology can produce content instantly and at scale, where does that leave human creativity? Are we using AI to enhance ideas and unlock new possibilities, or are we at risk of diluting originality and creative thinking?
Hosted by James Marriott, this working lunch brings together leading voices from Sheffield’s creative sector to explore how AI is reshaping creative work, what still makes human creativity valuable and where the industry goes next.
We’ll be asking:
- What happens when AI can produce “good enough” creative work in seconds?
- Is originality becoming more valuable – or less?
- Where does human insight, emotion and lived experience still matter most?
- And how can creatives work alongside AI without losing what makes their work unique?
Rather than framing AI as a threat alone, this discussion will look at the opportunities as well as the challenges. From design and branding to content and strategy, AI is already changing creative workflows – but the conversation around quality, authenticity and human connection is only just beginning.
Panel includes:
- Gerry Arcari – Vivid Creative
- Rob Taylor – Plan Grow Do
Alongside the discussion, there will be plenty of opportunity to connect with fellow creatives, marketers and business leaders from across South Yorkshire in a relaxed setting with lunch included.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
