Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice has thanked a Sheffield healthcare firm for its generosity after staff smashed the £5k fundraising target it set earlier this year.
Numed Healthcare, a supplier of innovative medical and waiting room TV solutions, has now raised almost £7,000 to support local families since May.
Initially shocked at the ambitious fundraising target, staff at the small firm quickly got on board to help local children and families.
After a gruelling 5k fun run, a huge bake sale and other fundraising initiatives, the tireless Numed Team had well and truly smashed their target by the end of September.
A spokesperson for Numed Healthcare said: “We’re delighted to have surpassed our target and raised almost £7,000 for such an amazing local charity.
“Many of our 18-strong team who agreed to the Sheffield 5K Big Fun Run were new to running so it certainly took some perseverance.
“While we always knew it was going to be a challenge, our brilliant and generous team really have gone above and beyond in support of Bluebell Wood.
“It’s a fantastic achievement and we’re incredibly proud of everyone who’s given up their time and helped us exceed our fundraising target.”
The Sheffield-based firm are ending the year with its much-anticipated Christmas Jumper day, adding an extra £130 to the huge sum they’ve already raised.
Julie Hampson, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Numed for going the extra mile for Bluebell Wood.
“We need to raise over £4.8m each year to keep our doors open so it really does make a huge difference to local children and families who are going through the most difficult of times.”
