It’s a Home Run for Sheffield Bruins Baseball Club as Crystal Peaks shopping centre confirms a 12 month sponsorship deal.

The Sheffield Bruins are the city’s newest Baseball Club, who hit the ground running by winning the A Division of the Northern Baseball League in their rookie year.

Based at Thorpe Green Park at Waterthorpe, close to Crystal Peaks, the club will be competing in the AAA Division in 2019.

And supporting them throughout the season will be the special new partnership with Crystal Peaks.

“We are a new team and a young team with an average age in our early 20s but after a great opening season we are very confident for the future and are delighted that Crystal Peaks are supporting us with a great sponsorship deal,” said team spokesman Tim French.

“We are a welcoming and inclusive team and we have men and women playing side by side – with people from all walks of life including engineers, teachers and even an airline pilot.

“Everybody is welcome to come and see what baseball is about and give us a try.

“We want baseball to be seen as a sport that anybody can do and enjoy being a part of and because we also want to be able to expand over coming seasons, the support being offered by Crystal Peaks is invaluable to us.”

The Bruins take part in the baseball season from April to September and practice at their Waterthorpe base every Thursday evening during the summer.

“Baseball is a sport that in the UK has, perhaps, been a little underestimated but with the support of Crystal Peaks we want to change that,” said Tim.

Crystal Peaks centre manager Lee Greenwood commented: “We were delighted to hear from the Bruins and  were very happy to be able to offer them some support over the coming season.

“As ever, we are always pleased to be able to support our local community and the Bruins very much represent a new and exciting addition to this area’s amenities.”
