Sheffcare care worker Vicky Beachell has been named the not for profit organisation’s Employee of the Year.

Vicky, who works at Paddock Hill Residential Care Home in Gleadless - one of the ten residential care homes operated across Sheffield by Sheffcare - received her award in a special ceremony at Sheffield’s Royal Victoria Holiday Inn.

She was nominated by home manager Louise Crocker, who described Victoria as hard working, trustworthy and respected.

“She will often go above and beyond what is expected of her, not accepting any recognition,” said Louise.

“Vicky focuses on each individual’s needs, always presenting person centred care and she makes the service users feel safe and cared for and will always follow through any issues and concerns, often using her own initiative.

“Vicky regularly receives praise from service users and their families regarding her caring nature and professionalism.”

Sheffcare Chief Executive Belinda Black commented: “Every member of the Sheffcare team is special and has an enormous contribution to make the ensuring our residents are happy in their environment.

“Just once a year however we like to celebrate those people who really do go the extra mile and on this occasion we feel that Vicky best represents the spirit that makes Sheffcare homes so special.”

The runner up was Rebecca Smith of Deerlands Residential Care home at Parson Cross, while there was also an award for Sue Horne, who volunteers at Knowle Hill Care Home.
