One of Frenchgate Shopping Centre’s staff members has been recognised for continuous long service.
Basement operative, Bill Scott, 69, has worked at the mall for more than quarter of a century in a variety of support roles.
Since starting at the company in June 1993, Bill has worked as a night operative and cleaning manager.
Bill said: “I love my job at Frenchgate – if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have worked here for so long.
“Throughout my time here, I’ve seen a lot of change with different shops coming and going, but it’s always been a great environment to work in.
“Management has been good to me over the last 25 years and I’ve no plans to retire just yet.”
As a thank you for his dedication to Frenchgate, Bill was presented with a rotary watch and card signed by the Frenchgate team.
Paddy Mellon, Frenchgate General Manager, said: “This is a special year for Frenchgate as we celebrate our 50th anniversary and it’s incredible that Bill has worked here for half of that time.
“Bill’s dedication to Frenchgate is hugely admirable – it’s because of such wonderful members of staff like him that the centre has been so successful. I’d like to thank Bill for all of his hard work and commitment throughout the years.”
