Local firms that completed the latest Doncaster Business Insight Survey, run by Doncaster Chamber, raised more than £150 for Real Help Doncaster.
For every survey taken by a business with a DN postcode, £1 was donated to the local fund that helps homeless and vulnerable people off the street and into a healthier and safer lifestyle. This is in addition to the £500 donation that the Chamber has already donated.
Says Pat Hagan, Head of Localities at Doncaster Council: “The strong support from Doncaster Chamber and local businesses for Real Help Doncaster gives a massive boost to our work to end rough sleeping. It reinforces the message that giving to the scheme and not directly to people on the street will guarantee those with complex lives receive the help needed to break the cycle of homelessness.
"Helping some of the most vulnerable to improve their circumstances makes a huge contribution to the overall prosperity and vitality of the town centre and borough as a whole.”
The quarterly survey run by the Chamber with the backing of Doncaster Council and sponsorship from ProAktive, captures a regular snapshot of business sentiment and how the local economy is faring.
The results are used by the Chamber and local government to ensure the right policies and structures are in place to support the local business community. The next business survey opens on Monday 18 February 2019 and is open to all Doncaster businesses. Take the survey at: doncaster-chamber.co.uk.
