The winners of the 20th annual Doncaster Business Awards 2018, sponsored by Doncaster College & University Centre, were announced on Thursday 13 December during a prestigious awards ceremony at Doncaster Racecourse.

The black-tie evening organised by Doncaster Chamber saw over 800 guests from the local business community recognise and celebrate the high calibre of work that firms are performing across the borough and beyond.

The Award winners and runners-up for each of the 12 award categories received their trophies from the sponsor judges having passed through a rigorous two stage judging process involving a written application and interview to be recognised amongst Doncaster’s finest businesses.

Over 85 entries were received for the various award categories including customer service, innovation, partnership working, CSER, third sector organisation, people development, international markets, and SME and large business of the year.

Celebrity magician Ben Hanlin, best known for his award winning ITV2 show ‘Tricked’ hosted the evening and entertained the audience with his cheeky personality and mind blowing tricks.

Following dinner and the awards presentations, guests continued to celebrate with live music from Hi-Fi deluxe, dancing and an entertainment village.

Dan Fell, CEO, Doncaster Chamber said: “Once again our 20th Doncaster Business Awards were a huge success and testament to the high calibre of work being done across the borough and beyond. We really do have a lot of success stories to shout about with Doncaster increasingly being recognised as a great place to do business.

“Congratulations to all of the winners and runners-up who were very deserving of their awards. Despite the current national climate of uncertainty caused by Brexit, businesses like these are giving Doncaster every opportunity to continue to thrive and grow.”
