Financial planner Jillian Thomas has been shortlisted for an entrepreneur of the year award.

Jillian, the managing director of Future Life Wealth Management, which is based in Renishaw, near Sheffield, is shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year category in the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Derbyshire County Cricket Club on December 3.

Jillian, who is a past president of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, said: “I am delighted to be shortlisted again as it is recognition of the hard work by myself and my team to build a very successful company.

“We were shortlisted for the same award last year and this year I am hoping we can go one better, which will be a real pat on the back for my hard working staff.”

Scott Knowles, chief executive of East Midlands Chamber, said: “Our Business Awards are always a great opportunity to showcase enterprise success in the region, but perhaps this year will be even more special during what has been a hugely difficult time for many businesses.

“It was great to see that Covid-19 hasn’t stifled innovation, resilience, and a determination to grow and succeed among the region’s business community, with a very high number of applicants.

“What’s also apparent is the range of companies – spanning a cross-section of sectors – that entered this year’s awards. It highlights both the diversity of industrial strengths and the mix of large and small companies the East Midlands has to offer – something that will be key to the region’s economic recovery.”

Since setting up the company in 2009, Jillian has won numerous awards including the Forward Ladies Inspirational Leader Award 2016, the Derbyshire Times Lifetime Achievement Award 2018 and the Corporate Social Responsibility category in the East Midlands Institute of Directors awards 2018.

Future Life Wealth Management has been listed in the New Model Advisor Top 100 every year since 2013. The listing celebrates the best of the professional financial planning community in the UK based on their qualifications, income and commitment.
