One of Sheffield’s most prestigious housing developments has been formally launched.

Botanical House on Clarkehouse Road, opposite the entrance to the Botanical Gardens, has been converted by Sheffield-based property developers Primesite UK from office space into 11 one, two or three bedroom luxury apartments.

The 11,750 square feet building was most recently home to law firm Wake Smith but was purchased in February 2016 by Primesite for a figure of more than £1m.

Primesite Managing Director Scott Hinchliffe said: “This is an extremely important project for us, one that we have worked on for some time and it is exciting that we are now able to officially launch the properties for sale to the market.

“We have brought forward the date of the launch as we have had so many enquiries from interested parties. Indeed, we have already reserved over half of the apartments, so we’d encourage people to act fast if they want to be successful.”

Mr Hinchliffe said Botanical House will provide some of the most luxurious apartments in Sheffield.

“Every apartment is completely different, each has its own individual character,” he said. “We have worked some of the leading designers with Siematic kitchens supplied by My Fathers Heart, for example, and bathrooms by CP Hart. No expense has been spared on the internal fit-out.’’

The most impressive feature of the development, however, is the location. Not just in terms of it being in the heart of S10, but also the views across the Botanical Gardens and beyond are completely unique.

The site, which was offices for Bassetts Foods before Wake Smith, also has space for a single detached house, privately accessed from Southbourne.

Residents are expected to move into their new homes in spring 2019 with enquiries to be made through selling agents Spencers on Ecclesall Road.

Primesite, which has its office in Nether Edge, is also behind a planning application to covert the former Gilders car showroom at the junction of Ecclesall Road, Ecclesall Road South and Psalter Lane into four retail / leisure units, office accommodation for leading local accountancy firm Brown McLeod and eight luxury townhouses to be built to the rear of the site.
