Benchmark has named Museums Sheffield as their charity of the year for 2019. The recruitment business will dedicate fundraising efforts throughout the year to support Museums Sheffield’s cultural offering in the city.

Benchmark has fostered its relationship with Museums Sheffield over the last few years, from sponsoring the Made in Sheffield exhibition in 2016, to assisting with Museums Sheffield’s hiring needs.

“As an ethical recruiter, corporate social responsibility is high on our agenda and deciding our charity of the year was something the whole team got behind,” said Rebecca Morris, Operations Manager at Benchmark.

“One of our key concerns at Benchmark is attracting people to the region and Museums Sheffield is pivotal to this as it is home to fantastic exhibitions and events in landmark buildings. Choosing Museums Sheffield was an easy decision as it is a charity which is close to our hearts, celebrating the cultural heritage of the city and attracting national exhibitions for local appreciation. ”

“We are delighted to be chosen as Benchmark’s charity of the year. Every year we must raise over £1 million in addition to the funding we receive to keep Sheffield’s museums open and free for everyone to enjoy,” said Kim Streets, CEO at Museums Sheffield.

“The support of Benchmark will help raise vital funds that enable us to continue to bring great cultural experiences to the people of Sheffield, experiences that makes our city a vibrant place to live and work. We are excited to be working with the Benchmark team to plan a year of fundraising activity.”

The highlight of Benchmark’s fundraising calendar is the charity quiz which last year raised over £2500 for Cavendish Cancer Care – this year Benchmark will be focused on matching this for Museums Sheffield.
