Sheffield’s Night Striders will be supported by top Sheffield companies Gripple and Pricecheck as they set out on the biggest and most colourful St Luke’s Hospice fundraiser of the year.

Night Strider is the annual nocturnal half marathon and 10k walking challenge that aims to raise more than £120,000 towards patient care at St Luke’s Hospice.

And in its fifth year, both Pricecheck and Gripple have joined the team once more as headline sponsors for the October 5 fundraising trek.

Starting out from the Peace Gardens in Sheffield city centre as darkness falls – and covering either a full half marathon distance or a shorter 10k route – the walk takes in some of Sheffield’s finest locations as it heads out on a new reverse route, making a completely different challenge for experienced Night Striders.

“We are delighted that two such well-known city companies are once again giving us their support as we set out on our fifth Night Strider,” said St Luke’s Corporate Fundraising Manager Jack Kidder.

“Both Pricecheck and Gripple are long-standing friends of St Luke’s and their continued support is something we value enormously.”

Night Strider is open to everybody over the age of 10 – though participants aged 10 to 17 must be registered and accompanied by another participant aged 18 or over – and is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Wheelchair users are encouraged to take part in Night Strider but due to the nature of the route and distance it is advisable they should source suitable assistance throughout the challenge.

There is an Early Bird discount offer of £20 person available until June 30. After that the individual entry fee is £25 – to sign up simply visit www.nightsrider.co.uk
