This edition features a special conversation with Nicola Towse, founder and CEO of Sheffield-based tech startup Risqly. Building her business through Sheffield Tech Parks’ Cooper Project and recently selected as part of TECH SY’s FoundHERy cohort, Nicola is part of a new generation of founders helping to shape the region’s tech ecosystem.
In conversation with Russ Thompson, Nicola will share the story behind Risqly, the challenges of building a SaaS startup from the ground up and what she has learned from a career spent tackling difficult conversations before they become bigger problems.
Alongside her work in technology, Nicola is also training as a Death Doula, bringing a unique perspective on communication, resilience and the importance of addressing issues early. Expect an honest and wide-ranging discussion about entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership and balancing two seemingly very different worlds.
The conversation will be an informal 45-minute discussion hosted by Russ Thompson, followed by plenty of time for open networking over drinks.
