A leading Sheffield software company which supports organisations in 124 countries is expanding its team.

Quality management and compliance specialist Qualsys supports a host of government agencies, plus global blue chip companies as diverse as BT and Virgin Media, construction giant Honeywell Global and hospitality giant Sodexo.

The company, based at Aizlewood’s Mill in Nursery Street, is committed to growth and a recruitment drive throughout 2019 will expand the team by 30 percent, from 49 to 64.

Four new recruits are already in place.

Tom Spedding takes on the challenge of Customer Success Champion, a new role created to ensure seamless customer service bridging account management, sales and marketing.

Prior to Qualsys Tom, 34, was West Yorkshire manager of Just Eat, the online food order and delivery service, bringing hundreds of food outlets onboard.

Tom’s first love was club management. The Sheffielder set up an event business in the city after studying Business Creation and Enterprise at Leeds Met.

He ran Headphone Discos in Sheffield, Leeds and Derby, his own night, Sound, at Plug and events for 2,000-plus crowds at Embrace and Sheffield O2.

Said Tom: “I’ll be looking at improvement opportunities throughout the customer journey, helping clients work towards their next ISO certification and apply Qualsys software to meet their needs.”

Also onboard is experienced account manager Sam Caley. He joins Qualsy from a recruitment career, head-hunting quality management professionals for major pharmaceutical companies across Europe and the USA.

Sam (28) who lives in Sheffield and is a father of three, commented: “Everyone at Qualsys is committed to providing world-class software solutions. I strive to forge close relationships with clients and hope to be a part of significant growth at the company.”

On the first step of their career ladder, Charlie Rees and Dan Morewood, both 21, have joined the services team as Implementation Analysts, ensuring customers’ software is properly implemented and configured and its staff are trained.

Chesterfielder Dan studied at St Mary’s Catholic High School and York University. Charlie, from Northampton, was awarded a First in Geography at Manchester University in 2018.
