Sheffield City Trust has donated around 7,000 pieces of personal protective equipment and nine defibrillators to the NHS.
During the current crisis, hospitals are running low on urgent supplies. There is a real shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and with an increase in people being admitted to hospital there is a need for more defibrillators too.
The donation from Sheffield City Trust, which included gloves, aprons, and defibrillators, will make a real difference to the safety of healthcare workers and the patients they’re treating.
Sheffield City Trust chief executive, Andrew Snelling, said: “The health and wellbeing of Sheffielders remains at the heart of everything that we do. And, in the face of the current challenge, we’re having to find new ways in which we can make a difference.
“We’re really pleased to be continuing our support for Sheffield and the NHS by donating PPE and defibrillators during this time of national crisis.
“Despite the circumstances we’re faced with we’re continuing to search for areas we can support Sheffield City Council, the NHS and the people of Sheffield.”
