Budding entrepreneurs from Sheffield’s Birley Spa Primary Academy will enjoy their first taste of commercial success when they launch their own businesses at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre.
The young retailers of the future are all taking part in the Virgin Money Make £5 Grow project, which encourages children to develop their business skills.
Make £5 Grow allows nine to 11-year-olds the experience of starting a small business using a £5 loan from Virgin Money.
The programme gives pupils an insight into how business works and helps them to build skills for the future, such as teamwork, problem solving, leadership, money management and creativity.
And on July 5 and 6 the Richard Bransons and Lord Sugars of tomorrow will be at Crystal Peaks to display their business visions and make their money grow by selling the products they have created with their fledgling enterprises.
“We think this is a fantastic way to help generate the business successes of the future,” said Crystal Peaks Centre Manager Lee Greenwood.
“Throughout the centre you’ll find big names like Marks & Spencer, Sainsburys, Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Next and it may well be that these Birley Spa children will one day be joining them as the retail giants of the future.
“Please do give them your support when you see them and help make their business dreams come true.”
