Make Your Mark UK is inviting nominations from good causes based in the UK to be considered as their charitable cause for the year.
Make Your Mark UK is a training, coaching and consultancy aiming to help businesses and charities to be better.
Organisations do not have to be a registered charity but do have to be a voluntary or community group. If successful, support from Make Your Mark UK could include:
- A modest donation
- Promotion
- Pro bono support for a particular project or support with strategy development
- Reviewing policies
- Executive coaching for leaders.
The current charity of the year being supported until the end of September is Mums In Need, a Sheffield-based charity, helping vulnerable mothers and their children who have escaped emotionally-abusive relationships.
The organisation provides a safe environment for women to speak freely. They also help mothers rebuild their lives by offering monthly coffee mornings, stress management workshops and legal and financial advice.
Laura Riley, founder and CEO of Mums In Need said: "As a fairly new charity we weren't sure what a Charity of the Year involves and Mark (Smith), from Make Your Mark, spent time with me and got to know where the gaps were and together we identified how he could best support us.
“During the last year, Mark and Make Your Mark have provided our board of trustees with training and development sessions, identified different funding avenues, introduced me to multiple useful contacts and undertaken fundraising for us.
“I also really enjoyed taking part in the podcast series Mark My Words, too, which has helped to raise our profile significantly.
"Mark is very knowledgeable and understands the struggles charities are faced with. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Make Your Mark UK and I hope for us to maintain a close working relationship in the future."
CEO Mark Smith said: “It has always been important for us to give back and support a Charity of the Year and it has been a pleasure to work with Laura and the Mums In Need team over the last year, helping them to make even more of an impact in the support and help they provide to women and children who have been affected by domestic abuse.”
Deadline for nominations is 8pm 30 September 2021.
