Another busy month and a few I didn’t make! So, I drafted in ‘networking guru’ Rich Davies from Jibba Jabba to help me out. More on that later.
First, what I did make. Starting out with an interesting visit to Sheffield Chamber offices, Westfield Health’s swanky rooftop venue for a ‘Co-Design Workshop’ led by Mark Goddard of Paper Studio. Hats off to Louisa and the Chamber Senior Team for consulting and engaging with a cross section of members about the Chamber’s future strategy.
On to Kitlocker HQ where our April 3D Connect session was held - and what a venue. Great to hear from Jack Kershaw how Kitlocker themselves are implementing AI. Also, Ellie Siddall from Reach Studios told us how they’re helping clients engage with AI, and Keith Smith from IntelliAM shared how they are helping food manufacturers worldwide make groundbreaking improvements in efficiency and productivity with AI. Lots of learnings all round.
Still on the subject of AI, we were delighted to be hosted by Dr Sharon Curtis at Ellesmere Nursery for a Business Sheffield session. Super connector Ruth MacDonald made sure we had a packed full room. It worked so well, we hope to be back!
On the same day at Henry Boot Sheffield was Advance Sheffield’s Quarterly Business Forum. Another very full agenda addressing Inclusive Recruitment, Pathways to Work, Skills Bank Updates and Business Grants. Ross Musgrave from Bravand updated us all on their Fresh Meet initiative too. Some really great stuff happening.
Finally, my favourite night of the year, The Big Challenge Awards night at the OEC.
My 18th one! There’s still the same passion, excitement, and enthusiasm from the young entrepreneurs, coupled with pride and admiration from teachers, carers and parents. I absolutely loved it!
So, back to Rich, his two ‘must attends’ are The Wine and Cheese Network with Andrew Lofthouse and IOD Factory Tours.
Tell you more next time!
