Frenchgate Shopping Centre is celebrating having been shortlisted for two prestigious industry awards.
The Centre has been recognised by the Revo Purple Apple Marketing Awards for the third year in a row, having won the ultimate accolade, a Purple Apple award, in 2019.
This year their Happiness Movement and Mental Elf campaigns have been shortlisted by Revo. Both campaigns have been recognised in the cause related marketing category.
The ‘Happiness Movement’ was a centre-wide campaign which aimed to spread positivity and happiness to shoppers, retailers and charities – Age UK and Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust. Customers were encouraged to engage by sending Happiness cards to one another, donating via a series of bubble-gum machines, and uniting generations through the National Citizen Service, whilst mall space was enlivened with a range of mood-boosting installations.
For the Mental Elf campaign, the Centre collaborated with mental health charity, Doncaster Mind to promote positive mental wellbeing during the festive period. The centre encouraged shoppers to relieve stress and boost their confidence by taking part in the Mental Elf activity, knitting and creating their very own elf, before leaving them around the centre for others to find.
Both campaigns were embraced by Frenchgate’s loyal shoppers as the Centre continues to strive to add value to every customer who visits.
The Revo Purple Apple Marketing Awards are the only awards which recognise and reward effective shopping and town centre marketing within the UK retail property sector. The awards also reflect how marketers have to constantly adjust to changing times, from ensuring their budget goes further and works harder, driving retailer sales and harnessing new initiatives including digital marketing.
Karen Staniforth, assistant general manager at Frenchgate, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised for the great work we have been doing at Frenchgate.
“The Revo Purple Apple Marketing Awards are very important within our industry and it is a great achievement to have made the shortlist for these prestigious awards.
“We work hard at Frenchgate to ensure our customers have the best possible experience when they visit our centre and to have been acknowledged for these awards is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.”
