VALLEY Park Community Primary School has stepped in to help neighbours at Gleadless residential care home Castelayn keep infection risk to a minimum during the Coronavirus pandemic.
With the school currently closed, staff decided that the best thing to do with four boxes of gloves and 100 disposable aprons was to donate them to nearby Castelayn, one of the ten homes operated through the city by charity Sheffcare.
“The safety of all our residents is always our primary concern and at this very difficult time, all our staff are working even harder to ensure everybody remains healthy and happy,” said the home’s manager Jacqui Blaver.
“Because infection control is so high a priority, we are getting through even more personal protective equipment than ever so this donation really does make a massive difference.
“Our very special thanks go to Valley Park School for being such good neighbours and thinking of us.”
