To build on the continued growth of sales in Canada, Gripple, the renowned UK-based manufacturer of the iconic wire fastener, has invested in its Canadian operation in line with its North America 2021 vision.
The sales drive at Gripple Canada in Toronto has been boosted with the workforce expanded and a long-standing company manager appointed managing director.
The steady expansion of business in Canada is largely due to the endeavours of Gripple Inc in Chicago – one of Gripple’s first operations outside the UK.
As managing director, the Gripple Canada sales and distribution team is headed by Claire Puharre, who has worked for Gripple 18 years. She spent 16 years as sales manager at Gripple Europe in Strasbourg, moving to Canada in 2017 in the same role.
Claire commented: “Establishing Gripple Canada is an exciting opportunity to build on Gripple Inc’s tremendous effort in identifying and converting hundreds of sales opportunities in Canada.
“With an experienced sales team targeting only the Canadian market there is even more to achieve, with the support of their administration, marketing and warehouse colleagues there and at HQ. I am confident that Gripple Canada will hit its sales target now and even larger ones in the future.”
By the end of this year Gripple Canada, also fully employee-owned, will have grown significantly. The total workforce will number 11, three of them having joined the company from Gripple HQ in the UK and enabling the company to put six out ‘on the road’.
The operation is already ready to lease a new facility to provide much needed larger office and warehouse space to help it meet its 2019 sales target.
