Keebles has swept the nominations board in the Sheffield City Region Dealmakers’ Awards with 13 shortlistings.
The nominations across seven categories include Corporate Law Firm of the Year – a prestigious title which the practice scooped in 2017 and retained in 2018.
Keebles acted in three out of five deals selected for Deal of the Year (up to £2.5m) – the buyout of Harvest Healthcare, a UK Steel Enterprise investment in Tekfloor and the acquisition of Transvac Systems by Evac.
The firm has also been shortlisted three times for Mid-Market Deal of the Year (between £2.5m and £10m) for the management buyout of CTW Hardfacing, advising HSBC on its funding package to support acquisitions by Coppergreen Developments – and the disposal of Hydratron Ltd by Keebles’ long-standing client Pressure Technologies plc.
Nominated twice in Deal of the Year (exceeding £10m) for the ALTEK Group’s sale to Harsco Corporation and the management buyout of Senior Architectural Systems, dealmakers also acted in two deals in the National/International Deal of the Year. They were Axel Johnson International’s acquisition of the Marindus Group Ltd and the purchase of Environmental Resource Group by Red Industries.
Matt Ainsworth, who heads the Corporate Department, is in the running for Dealmaker of the Year with associates James Burdekin and Henry Hill in the final line up of Emerging Dealmaker of the Year.
The shortlistings follow Keebles being named the second most active dealmaker in Yorkshire and Humber region by Experien’s M&A Review table for the first quarter of 2019.
Matt Ainsworth said: “I’m extremely proud that we’ve been nominated for an unprecedented 13 accolades. It really is a testament to the hard work of our team, and we take great pride in going the extra mile for our clients and getting the results they need.”
The award winners are set to be announced on June 6 at the Mercure St Paul’s Hotel in Sheffield.
