It was a case of best feet forward as the team at Sheffield property management specialist Omnia Property Group supported Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
Staff were encouraged to wear their brightest, boldest socks to help raise awareness of eating disorders and break down the stigma attached to them.
And to bring the fundraising total for the day up to £100, there was also a sweepstake and a cupcake sale.
“Many of our tenants are young people – as indeed are many of our staff – and we are very aware of the sort of problems they face, especially if they are away from home for the first time,” said Omnia Operations Director Amy Ryan.
“Eating Disorders Awareness Week puts a very serious issue in the spotlight and we would like to think that our one event supported this very important cause, standing together to demand that anyone affected by an eating disorder is supported, no matter what their diagnosis, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, age or background.”
Eating Disorders Awareness Week is organised by the Beat Eating Disorders Association, the UK’s eating disorder charity.
Only recently, Omnia Property Group Managing Director Joanne Race and Regional Manager Jackie Plumb qualified as Mental Health First Aiders, with certification from Mental Health First Aid England.
