Fifty of Sheffield’s worst affected companies are being offered a potential lifeline to help them recover from the devastation of Covid-19.
Skills Bank – which is funded by the Local Enterprise Partnership – is putting its weight behind a pioneering recovery programme that promises to quickly help businesses to adapt to the post-lockdown world whilst taking the maximum amount of staff back from furlough.
Fifty companies – which are being chosen from July 15th on a first come, first served basis – are being provided with fully funded training from two of the region’s most influential sales and marketing experts on their Plan. Grow. Do programme that was launched just a few days ago.
The training majors on factors that are critical to Covid recovery and include:
- Understanding the new environment
- Planning actionable recovery steps
- Sales training to boost confidence.
Rob Taylor – who has worked with the likes of Amazon and Google – has won plaudits for his work helping traditional businesses embrace and harness the power of the digital economy.
He said: “There has been a sea change in recent weeks which has seen much of the business community switching to working online. New buying habits have been formed and if businesses don’t embrace this new way of working, they won’t have a business. We have to applaud Skills Bank for providing the funding to allow companies free access to our training.”

Their training programme is specifically geared to helping businesses and entrepreneurs – many of which will have been in lockdown with furloughed sales teams since March – to re-think their business model.
Steve Knapp’s inspirational selling techniques are still the cornerstone of one of the world’s biggest brands – Shell. In 2019 he released his best-selling Amazon book ‘FunnelVision – Selling Made Easy’ which has introduced his pioneering teachings to businesses and entrepreneurs worldwide.
