Level 3 Public Services students took part in the Lake District Challenge to raise £500 for the Royal British Legion.
The three-day challenge included abseiling 100ft at Cathedral Quarry, kayaking on Lake Windermere and participating in the Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine – an extreme mountain climbing challenge.
Charlotte Pickering, a Level 3 Public Services student, said: “The challenge was an amazing way to end the College year.
“I learnt to never give up, we all pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones to complete each challenge. The activities brought the group together and we have all bonded making great memories that will last a lifetime.”
Jed Wright, HE Teaching Associate, added: “The students showed great resilience and enthusiasm in all the activities; they displayed personal growth developing a range of skills to support them in the next steps in their uniformed services career.
“They developed their communication, team-working and decision making skills and more importantly, how to cook bacon on a camping stove!”
