Hydra Creative were crowned the winners of the Technology for Good category at the iconic creative industry event, the Prolific North Tech Awards. Hydra had worked with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust to design and develop the Bee Kind tool, a website that scores the bee friendliness of your garden.

The website was created, with the help of funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to raise awareness of the increasing concern surrounding the decline of the bumblebee population. It replaced an older version of the tool that was no longer fit for purpose.

Gill Perkins, CEO, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, said: “It’s been a fantastic experience working with Hydra to redevelop ‘Bee kind’ and we’re delighted that they’ve won this award. The new ‘Bee kind’ tool provides people with vital information to make the right choices for bumblebees in their gardens. At a time when there is so much doom and gloom in the news about insect declines ‘Bee kind’ helps all us to take simple positive actions to improve our environment.”

The Bee Kind tool has proven hugely successful with thousands of visitors signing up to the website in an effort to improve their bee friendliness score. Visit the Bee Kind website to find out more -https://beekind.bumblebeeconservation.org/
