Pete Swatkins tells us how a time of reflection helped him ‘bite the bullet’ and start his business that’s now ‘bucking the online personal training trend’

The Fitness Truck® is a mobile fitness unit specialising in home, corporate and small group fitness sessions.
Existing for your convenience and training at a time and location to suit you, we believe in bucking the online PT trend and keeping things personal with our ‘in person’ sessions – because quite frankly, you deserve better!
With our truck full of equipment, from slam balls to dumbbells, battle ropes to boxing gloves, our sessions are varied, fun and delivered safely to some banging tunes.
No matter what your ability, we break down our activities so that even the most novice of participants can complete a session.
What gave you the idea for your business?
Losing my job, the end of a relationship and moving out of my first home proved a challenging 2016 but a time of reflection allowed me to bite the bullet of running my own business. It was time to utilise my in-person skills, my Sports Science degree and over 12-years professional/semi-professional rugby experience.
We’re now on an accelerated programme to bring our franchise model to market at the back of 2019 and into 2020.
Who are your customers and how are you targeting them?
Our primary audience is the corporate sector, targeting sedentary lifestyles and office jobs, providing the opportunity to move more at work with a fully/part funded fitness session at the office each week.
We also target families, couples, individuals or small groups who want to work out at home who simply don’t have the time or confidence to hit the gym.
