Two students from Sheffield Hallam University will be representing their countries in an international diving competition.
Tia McGarry and Lucy Hawkins, both 19, will don the colours of Team GB and Wales respectively to compete in the Ukrainian Open Cup 2019.
Tia and Lucy will arrive in Ukraine on Monday 15 April ahead of beginning their campaigns in the women’s open 10m platform event on Thursday (18 April).
Tia, a second-year biomedical science student from Sheffield, said: "I am quite nervous about this competition as I have never competed for Great Britain before, only England in my first junior international when I was 15, so I am feeling a bit of pressure. But I am really looking forward to it. It should be an amazing experience with my friends and also my coach Dale White."
Lucy, a first-year sport and exercise science student originally from Southampton, said: "I’m really looking forward to my first international competition, excited to see how it’s going to go, and to go to Ukraine for the first time too. Hopefully this will be good practise and help prepare us for the National Championships in June."
