A Doncaster-based charity which brings businesses together to benefit the community has completed a hat-trick of fundraising achievements

Formed two years ago, Doncaster Business for the Community (DB4C) raises much-needed funds for Doncaster-based charities and the local community and involves some of the best-known figures in the Doncaster business world.

“Our strength is that everyone is a volunteer and funds raised will go to chosen local charities and community projects but by typically using the power of sport to raise these funds,” said director Nigel Tomlinson from DB4C.

The recently held Doncaster Business Community Cup – a five-a-side football tournament – raised a record £9,000; the Business Community Vase, aT20 cricket event, raised £5,500 and the glittering Diamond Ball raised £6,200

“We are also hoping to shortly announce another significant sporting tournament, the first of its type in Doncaster.

“Our aim though hasn’t always been just to raise funds for the local community but also to improve the health and wellbeing of those people who take part in our events. Speak with anyone who took part in the football, for them it wasn’t just about the game, it was the build-up, the training and the new friendships.”
