The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Tony Downing, lined up with representatives from the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce to unveil a brand new initiative for local businesses.

Arundel Street’s Silversmiths – which was re-launched under new ownership in October – has launched its very own business club to help create a brand new city centre hub for networking and business meetings.

Local businessmen Rick Bailey and Matt Ray have invested heavily in the creation of a restaurant, Bar and corporate space that offers the perfect setting for business meetings and events.

They were joined at the launch evening by members of Sheffield University, Marketing Sheffield, 4N Networking, the Results Hub, Atkinsons of Sheffield, UTC College, Graysons Solicitors, Ewe Move Estate Agents, Royston Parkin Accountants and others.

Rick Bailey said:

“Our proximity to the railway station, city centre and Hallam University makes us an ideal place for business meetings.

"We also offer a private and corporate dining room on the first floor of the restaurant that will seat up to 15 guests.

“Our new business club is free to join and offers member discount in the restaurant. It also offers the chance to get exclusive invitations to everything from networking events to wine and food tasting evenings.

“We also want to help create a destination to develop the after work trade of the city.”

Since it re-opened, Silversmiths has received acclaim thanks to their head chef, Ashley Bagshaw.

The restaurant famously also appeared on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmare’s programme in 2009.

Renowned for his flair and tipped for greatness, the 24-year-old is a rising star of the culinary world.

Matt Ray has held senior positions at Gatecrasher, Bloo88 and Soyo. Rick Bailey runs the 150-strong IPM Group. He recently launched the thriving FirePit Rocks – Sports & Dive bar on West Street.
