Staff from Wake Smith Solicitors are hoping their fundraising efforts will be a runaway success for a Sheffield children’s charity.

An eight-strong team from the city-based law firm will take part in the Sheffield 10k on 22 September for their chosen charity Create a Dream Foundation (CADF).

The team, which includes Scott Haslam, Duncan Shepherd, Lorraine Slack, Natasha Lindley, Tom Weightman, Holly Abbott-Cragg, Helen Thompson and Abby Worsnip is hoping to smash a £1000 fundraising target with help from staff, clients, family and friends.

Medical negligence associate Scott Haslam said: “Staff at Wake Smith Solicitors voted to support Create a Dream Foundation for the financial year.

“As part of a host of fundraising events, staff members have agreed to run the Sheffield 10k in support of the charity which helps the dreams of seriously or terminally ill children come true.

“The event is a great opportunity for Team Wake Smith to raise awareness and fundraise for CADF while enjoying a great day with fellow runners.

“There is some rivalry as to who makes the best time, but we are all on-side to raise as much money as we can.”

Staff at Wake Smith voted to support Sheffield-based CADF which helps make the dreams of seriously or terminally ill children in Sheffield and South Yorkshire come true.

CADF’s resources make these children’s dreams a reality by funding gifts and experiences. This could be helping them to visit their favourite place, receive their dream toy, meet their hero, or have an experience that they could only dream of. No matter the size of the dream, CADF does what it can to make it come true.

The Sheffield 10k route starts in Arundel Gate, taking runners along Charter Row and along Ecclesall Road, before skirting the edges of Endcliffe Park. It continues along Riverdale Road, along Endcliffe Vale Road, close to the Botanical Gardens, then travels down Brocco Bank and back to a city centre finish.
