Media statement from Andrew Snelling, Sheffield City Trust chief executive.
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE:
Following updated information regarding the Coronavirus outbreak, we have taken the decision to close all Sheffield City Trust venues from 23:59, Tuesday 17th March.
The health and wellbeing of the people of Sheffield is at the very heart of our organisation and we are committed to ensuring that we reduce the risk of Coronavirus for all our customers to an absolute minimum.
While others in our industry remain open we felt that our customers – who represent a broad section of society including many from the most vulnerable sections – needed a decision to be made and we felt it was in the best interests of everyone to close our venues.
We would like to reassure customers that all memberships across our Golf, Fitness and Lesson Activities will be paused free of charge, ensuring that no one loses their place or is out of pocket. No further monthly payments will be taken whilst our venues are closed.
Keeping fit and active remains important for general health and wellbeing and is the best way to build resilience to viruses. We are working with our partners to provide our customers with ideas and solutions to maintain activity levels in the home.
We will continue to monitor the on-going Coronavirus outbreak and will update our website and social media pages with all relevant information regarding re-opening.
