Doncaster Skills Academy (DSA) is hosting an awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate the work businesses and schools are doing together to raise the aspirations of local young people.
Businesses that already work with the DSA and the Enterprise Adviser Network or who want to find out more about how to get involved are invited to attend and celebrate the business and education partnerships in Doncaster and the opportunities going forward. Some of the students who have benefited from the work of the DSA and been nominated for the awards will also attend.
Cllr Nuala Fennelly, Councillor for Young People & Families, Doncaster Council, will present the awards for Raising Aspirations, Innovation, Business Advocate, Skills Fest Exhibitor, Student of the Year, and Outstanding Business & Education Partnership.
Says Catherine Matthews, Business & Education Adviser at Doncaster Chamber: “Without the time, support and advocacy that businesses and their representatives give, Doncaster Skills Academy wouldn’t be able to support students and their schools to bridge the gap between education and employment across the Borough.
“These awards recognise the time that businesses have invested in our young people and will grow the interest and involvement of others to keep driving the success of this partnership work to offer a solution to better prepare young people with the skills they need for fulfilling careers.”
The Doncaster Skills Academy awards ceremony will take place at The Dome on Wednesday 27 March 2019 starting at 9:30am with networking and a buffet lunch at noon.
